13/04/26 - Reusable Branded Coffee Tins & Paper Refill Bags

We’re introducing new branded reusable coffee tins designed to support a more sustainable way of enjoying your coffee. Made from fully recyclable aluminium and fitted with a one-way valve for freshness, the tins are built to last while helping reduce packaging waste.

In line with our commitment to keeping prices fair, the tins are aligned with our standard resealable valve bag pricing—meaning there is no additional cost to switch to a more sustainable option.

The idea is simple: purchase a reusable tin once, then top up using our paper refill bags, reducing long-term packaging impact and supporting a more circular, lower-waste approach. As part of this move, paper bag refills are also priced 50p cheaper than alternative packaging.

While paper bags are not intended for long-term storage, in conjunction with postal packaging they provide effective protection during transport from roast to delivery. Beans can then be decanted into airtight storage on arrival, with the short exposure period also allowing the coffee to naturally settle and de-gas.

This change supports better sustainability without compromising on freshness, quality, or convenience.

06/04/26 - Retail Bag Size Update: Moving to 275g

We’re updating our retail bag size to 275g as part of an ongoing effort to roast more efficiently, reduce waste, and offer better value without compromising quality.

This change allows us to maximise roasting efficiency by aligning retail production more closely with our batch sizes. Fewer partial batches mean more consistent roasts, less energy used per kilo, and tighter quality control across every coffee we release.

A 275g bag also aligns neatly with how most people brew espresso. Using widely recommended 18g dose, each bag yields approximately 15 shots, making it easier to plan, dial in, and enjoy coffee at its best before it goes stale.

By optimising batch size and packaging, we’re able to reduce handling time, packaging materials, and transport weight. That means a lower environmental footprint per bag and fewer resources used overall. These efficiencies also reduce costs in the background — and importantly, we’re passing those savings on, rather than absorbing them quietly.

In short, the move to 275g helps us:

  1. Roast more efficiently and consistently
  2. Reduce waste and environmental impact
  3. Better match real-world brewing habits
  4. Keep pricing fair while maintaining quality.

It’s a small change in size, but a meaningful step towards a more efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused way of roasting coffee.
